I have told you before about how to apply blue makeup in general. In this article, I’ll be more specific giving you some tips about how to apply navy blue Smokey eyes. This technique of eye makeup could work for most eye and hair colors, especially gray eyes with blonde hair. It’s just my point of view. But it also works on dark skin and dark hair as I’ll show you in the pictures. I like the blue eye makeup so much and hope you will enjoy it.
Most of us were thinking that Smokey eyes can’t be done except with dark gray or black colors. But now I can let you know that you can apply a whole Smokey eye makeup with blue and you’ll look just as terrific as gray and black Smokey looks.
- First of all, you should choose a dark blue color to apply to the whole eyelid. But before doing this, you have to apply a base cream on the upper eyelid and a lighter-skin degree of concealer on the lower eyelids under your eyes.
- You have to apply the dark blue shadow with a light hand. Then, try to place a thin layer of this powder shadow over your lids, using a brush to diffuse the color. Use a black pencil in between your lashes (don’t create a thick line or it will look creepy), and black eyeliner on the upper eyelids (close to the eyelashes to look darker than the blue shade).
- You should also apply the same dark blue shadow under your eyes but of course a thin line under the lower eyelashes. Use then a light degree of blue shadow over the darker blue shade on the upper eyelids and under the thin dark line below the lower eyelashes.
- Apply a light neutral shade on the whole eye especially under the eyebrows over the lighter blue shadow degree. You should do that using a big brush not to spoil the rest of your eye makeup. Then you should apply some lighter glitter on the eye corner to look the best. The last step is trying some black or blue mascara as you wish.
I guess you have now a few ideas of applying blue Smokey eyes for most of eye and hair colors. You should be able now to apply it by yourself on your face or even for the others. You should begin after the basic steps with the dark color, then the lighter ones. Use a black pencil between the lashes and on the upper lids. The rest of the steps you probably do with other types of makeup techniques. I hope you enjoyed learning this method of Smokey eyes. Good luck!
